ABOUT US

Meet your hosts

Anton & Penny Flaherty, owners of The Strickland Arms pub in Great Strickland set this service up in response to cyclists enduring the logistics hassle of trying to organise a group C2C ride or riding in the lovely valleys & villages of Eden and Lake District.

Avid fans of cycling and Cumbria themselves, they are keen to help others get out and about in one of the most beautiful areas of Britain on the best mode of transport for taking it all in.

Please drop us an email or call with your questions - we are always happy to help.

How it all started...
with a visit from the Tour de France champions

Launched in November 2012, Yellow Jersey Cycling was inspired by Team Sky's visit to our pub The Strickland Arms, on their Tour of Britain victory lap of Britain after their successful 2012 Tour de France.

Our Own Routes

Discover new cycle routes in the Lake District National Park

Anton and Penny have created two of their own published routes in the area. These are:

1) Wiggo's Way - an approved alternative spur on the Coast to Coast route, or an enjoyable day ride from the pub

2) Yellow Jersey TDF 2012 Loop around Penrith, Ullswater and Lowther.  Cycle in the tracks of Sir Bradley Wiggins on his Tour de France victory lap through Britain.

Using the Strickland Arms pub as your base...

Base camp - lock the bikes up, grab a pint and a meal while you plan tomorrow's route..

Using the Strickland Arms as your base, where indoor lock-up facilities, tools for minor repairs, tire pumps and a hose to wash the bikes down are available, Yellow Jersey Cycling makes cycling through some of the north of England's most stunning areas that bit more accessible.
